Ashley McLean is an artist, based in New York City. She received her B.F.A. in Photography and Video from the School of Visual Arts. In 2021, she briefly studied in the Fine Arts program at the Universität der Künste Berlin.
Her camera renders her subjects in contact with the natural world with tenderness and sensitivity as her guiding ethic. McLean’s work calls attention to the notions of masculinity, Black identity, and subjectivity in art.
She has showcased work in domestic and international group exhibitions.
